Still Life in Motion

I picked up the empty detergent containers one quiet afternoon—those bright-coloured shapes you usually glance past in the laundry room. I had an idea to highlight them in my artwork next.

And here it is. On the digital canvas, I allowed these containers to hold space and significance. I painted them as it is, deep blues, happy reds, darker greens—so the hue would reflect that moment of transformation. What used to clean becomes a vessel, what used to hold mere liquid now holds a chance or a possibility. The flowers made their presence in contrast - they are my living, breathing subjects of the scene.

The composition is simple in its objects, but complex in its intention. Yes, it is a still life but not just the typical one. For me, it signifies renewal. Old meets new. Used meets fresh. Every day boring items become art.

I made this art piece hoping when you look at it, it will give you a story of transformation, colour and hope. May it bring that same spark in my room as in yours.
